In the book, The Black Swan, by Nassim Taleb, a character named Ash kisses a woman named Cassandra. He tells her that he wants to kiss her, but doesn't know how since she's a writer. He tells her that he's an insurance agent and compares his kiss to fire and ice. Ash says that when Cassandra is in his arms, she's in the fire part of him and when he lets her go, she's in the icy part of him.

For him, there is no switch from the fire part to the icy part. He explains that he doesn't know how to turn off the fire part since it's a necessary reaction to many things. From this, I can see that Ash wants to kiss Cassandra but doesn't know how to turn off the fire part of himself when she is in his arms.
